Britain Has Voted on the Issue of Leaving the European Union - Results Are Being Counted

Earlier today, the U.K. voted on the issue of whether or not to leave the European Union. The polls have closed and the votes are being counted. It is expected to be close.

For those who enjoy staying up all night to watch election results (I know there must be some of you out there), I am including a link to a site that is showing the vote as it comes in. Check this out - scroll down a bit to see the big black banner that says "EU REFERENDUM". Under that will be the latest results. Link:

As of the time I am writing this, the vote to leave the EU is slightly ahead. But at least one recent poll suggested a slight lead for staying in the EU, and the stock market seems to expect Britain to stay in the EU.

The votes are expected to be completely counted by "breakfast time" in the U.K. That would put it around 3:00 am Eastern time in the United States, give or take.

I plan to publish a post about the results as soon as a definite decision is known.
